Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a skilled clinical assistant to support providers and clinical teams with patient care and administrative duties. You will handle patient calls, portal messages, and coordinate with care teams while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate EHR documentation.

Two years of related experience are preferred, with relevant licenses such as CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, MAC, or NHA. This PRN/POOL role offers wellbeing and retirement benefits, with pay in the Colorado range.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations.
• 2 years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.
• License(s) required include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, MAC, or NHA; Colorado licensure options may apply.

Responsibilities

• Fields patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
• Addresses patient portal and EHR messages within established timeframes.
• Communicates with provider or team members regarding patient questions and concerns.
• Receives and processes refill requests based on workflow and qualifying factors.
• Manages provider’s patient portal messages and maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• Closes loop with patients on requests, results, or concerns.
