Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical teams in patient care. You will handle calls, portal messages, and refills, ensuring timely, accurate documentation in the EHR and clear communication with the care team.

The role requires familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA, OSHA, and multiple CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA certifications. This is a PRN pool position with benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations required.
• 2 years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient phone calls and voicemails promptly and professionally.
• Address patient portal and EHR messages within established timeframes.
• Coordinate with providers and teams to resolve patient questions and concerns.
• Process refill requests according to workflow and qualifying factors.
• Close the loop with patients on requests, questions, results, or concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system.
• Support HIPAA compliance and uphold Just Culture and organizational values.
