Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient care and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting in Columbus, OH.

You will take patient history, record vital signs, perform basic testing, phlebotomy, administer injections, handle paperwork, and assist with exams and OSHA-related testing as needed. Strong clinical judgment and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including EMR use.
• Ability to work independently with good clinical and professional judgment.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain certification

Responsabilités

• Take patient history and record vital signs.
• Perform basic testing/screenings (vision, hearing, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, PFT).
• Collect specimens via phlebotomy and process lab paperwork.
• Administer injections and document per policy.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, flu, pregnancy, UA, glucose).
• Dispense medications and document treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and equipment sterilization.
• Coordinate records for ancillary care and referrals.
• Assist providers during exams and testing (pelvic, eye/ear irrigation, I&D).
• Perform occupational medicine testing (drug screens, audiogram, DOT).
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and ensure equipment is functional.
• Schedule and manage records, referrals, and patient education.
• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies; support patient flow.
• Explain insurance coverage and pricing; manage registrations and payments.
• Travel to care centers within designated region as needed.
• Train team members and support ongoing improvements.
• Additional duties as assigned.
