Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health in Akron, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will take histories, vital signs, perform basic screenings and phlebotomy, manage paperwork, and assist with exams and occupational testing.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Ability to function independently with sound clinical judgment.
• CPR certification required.

Responsabilités

• Take patient histories and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic tests and screenings (vision, audio, EKG, DOt testing).
• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory samples.
• Complete lab paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Administer injections and record procedures per policy.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, glucose, influenza, pregnancy tests).
• Dispense and document medications and other treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterilize equipment.
• Schedule records and coordinate ancillary care.
• Assist providers with exams and tests, including pelvic/eye/ear care.
• Support occupational medicine testing and HIPAA compliance.
• Preserve patient confidentiality and confidentiality of records.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; ensure good patient flow.
• Explain insurance coverage and collect payments; register patients.
