Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care in Ohio is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians across clinical and administrative tasks. You will take patient history, record vital signs, perform basic screenings, phlebotomy, injections, and point-of-care tests to help deliver efficient care.

You will maintain sterile technique, manage lab paperwork, assist with exams, coordinate records, and support patient education while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a physician practice or clinic setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including EMR usage.
• Ability to work independently with good clinical judgment.
• CPR certification"

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and record vital signs.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, hearing, UDS, breath alcohol, EKG, PFT).
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples and document results.
• Administer injections and document procedures per policy.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, flu, glucose, pregnancy, UA).
• Assist with exams and testing and support patient care flow.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and clean/sterilize equipment.
• Handle registrations, insurance explanations, payments, and referrals.
• Travel to care centers within designated region.
