Hometown Urgent Care in Ohio is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks, assist providers, and help ensure patient safety and comfort.

The role requires taking patient history, vital signs, basic testing, phlebotomy, injections, point-of-care testing, and documentation, with travel to care centers within the region. This position is about two weekdays per week plus every other weekend, with occasional shifts at Colerain clinic.

Qualificações

• 1-2 years of experience in a physician practice or clinic setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Ability to function independently with good clinical judgment and discretion.
• CPR certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic tests such as vision, hearing, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests.
• Collect laboratory samples via phlebotomy and document results.
• Administer injections (subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular) and complete related paperwork.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (strep, flu, glucose, urine analysis, pregnancy tests).
• Dispense and document medications and other treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterilize equipment, manage autoclave usage.
• Schedule records and coordinate ancillary care for patients.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures (pelvic exams, eye/ear irrigations, splints).
• Perform occupational medicine testing (urine drug screens, breath alcohol, audiograms, DOT physicals).
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and ensure equipment is functional.
