Job summary

Atrius Health in Somerville, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and exams in the exam room. You will prepare patients, check vital signs, and ensure accurate EMR documentation and test results.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus MA certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or MA certification program.
• ACLS may be required depending on specialty.
• Current BLS or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical or customer service setting.
• Proficiency with EMR, word processing and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of reagents stability and testing procedures.
• Understanding testing procedures and factors affecting results.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms per procedures.
• Prepare patients for examination; measure vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; advise on pre-visit testing.
• Update EMR with medical information and demographics.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and manage refills.
• Assist with minor patient concerns and complaints.
