Job summary

AtriusHealth, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant in Somerville, MA. You will assist clinicians with routine procedures, prep patients, and ensure lab results are in the EMR. You will also provide direct clinical support to one or more assigned clinicians.

This position requires rotating opening and closing shifts with hours 8am-8pm Mon-Fri and Sat/Sun 9am-5pm. A high school diploma or MA certification is required, with preferred credentials including an Associate degree and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience in a clinical or customer service setting preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patients for examination; measure vital signs.
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and pre-visit testing.
• Ensure EMR is updated with accurate medical information and demographics.
• Order and perform point-of-care waived tests.
