Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care in a clinical or research setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, height/weight, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting during routine procedures.
• Maintains clean, stocked patient care areas and escorts patients to ancillary services such as radiology and lab.
• Performs point-of-care testing and provides instructions for tests and procedures.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies, ensuring expiration dates are respected.
• Reviews medication lists in the EMR for physician review; may retrieve Schedule VI and OTC meds under supervision.
• Uses EMR (OMR) to queue prescription renewals and document tasks for billing purposes.
• Prepares schedules, patient charts, and documents for clinical activities per center standards.
• Manages patient flow, screens calls, and communicates delays to patients and providers.
