Job summary

MedStar Health in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in the Gastroenterology clinic. Under physician/provider supervision, you will perform venipuncture, vitals, injections, CTAs, and EMR documentation while ensuring high-quality patient interactions.

This full-time position may float to other sites; requires CMA/RMA within 1 year and CPR/BLS; schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–4:30pm, at 6710 Rockledge Drive.

Qualifications

• CMA/RMA certification within 1 year is required or expected.
• CPR/BLS training for healthcare providers within 90 days.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and administrative duties in ambulatory care under supervision.
• Assist with patient exams, venipuncture, medication and vaccine administration, vitals, and clerical support.
• Float to other sites within the system as needed and maintain EMR documentation.
• Screen patients for preventative care needs and support care coordination.
• Participate in team huddles and performance improvement activities.
• Maintain infection prevention, supply inventories, and equipment readiness.
