Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Credentials options include CCI Cardiographic Tech, ARRT Radiography, ARRT Sonography, or ARDMS within specified timelines.
• Education: HS equivalency or Associate's degree or 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment and operate transducers.
• Ensure safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
• Perform routine and complex studies and assist imaging procedures.
• Identify significant structures, artifacts, and equipment limitations.
• Ensure equipment functions properly and report issues to responsible personnel.
• Submit high-quality images and patient data to PACS with correct markers.
• Maintain clean, orderly department and related areas.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
• Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
• Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
• Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
