Job summary

Ascension in Nashville, TN, is looking for a Medical Assistant to support OB/GYN services in a full-time, days schedule. You will coordinate patient visits, document vital signs, and transcribe orders for labs and imaging to keep the care pathway smooth and timely.

Requirements include BLS within 1 month, CMA certification within 4 months, and 1+ year Women’s Health MA experience. Some travel to outreach locations and Monday–Friday hours are expected.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Medical Assistant obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Approved credentialing bodies include, but may not be limited to: American Medical Technologists, National Healthcare Assoc, National Center for Competency Testing, National Assoc for Health Professionals and American Assoc of Medical Assistants.

• Coordinate seamless patient visits by preparing treatment environments and conducting initial screenings to ensure every individual feels welcomed and ready for care.
• Capture the patient’s story by accurately documenting vital signs and care journeys, providing the medical team with the high-quality data needed for precise clinical decisions.
• Facilitate essential treatments by transcribing and processing orders for labs and imaging, ensuring patients receive the follow-up services they need without delay.
• Support the clinical flow by managing front-of-house communications and maintaining medical supplies so the care team can remain focused on the patient.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Work Experience

• 1+ years of Womenâs Health Medical Assistant experience.

Additional Preferences

• Must be willing to work Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
• Medical Assistant certification prior to application
• Must be willing to travel 1-2 days per week to outreach locations.
