Qualifications

Job description

Department: 02110 AAH Good Hope - Endocrinology

Status: Full time

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Hours Per Week: 36

Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm; Every other Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm

Wednesdays are at Mayfair North Clinic

Actual compensation offered in the Pay Range of $21.45- $32.20 for an MA or $23.65 - $35.50 for an LPN, based on qualifications, skills, experience, and training.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and updating health information. Monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures.
  2. Perform laboratory procedures like strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection following aseptic techniques.
  3. Assist physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, and colposcopy.
  4. Administer routine medications under physician orders or protocols, including immunizations and topical agents.
  5. Coordinate tests, appointments, referrals, and communicate with patients and team members to ensure smooth clinic flow.
  6. Perform clinical support tasks such as suture removal, lab procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, and prescription refills under supervision.
  7. Provide age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient data.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within 45 days if not already held.
Education Required:
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience in the last 5 years.
Experience Required:
  • None required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Perform routine and complex technical skills within scope after competency demonstration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and team members.
  • Proficient in computer use, including electronic medical records.
  • Customer service skills supporting positive patient experiences.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 35 pounds, and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
  • Use patient handling equipment for lifts over 35 pounds, with assistance when necessary.
  • Operate necessary equipment and wear protective gear as needed.
