Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• National CMA/CMAs credentials (AAMA/AMT/ARMA/NAHP/NHA/NCCT).
• Completion of Medical Assistant Core Skills and role-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs and report to provider.
• Perform clinical tasks, maintain accurate chart documentation, and manage patient flow.
• Contribute to care plan development with the interdisciplinary team and address barriers.
• Provide patient/family education and assess health literacy and readiness.
• Encourage patient engagement using motivational interviewing and self-management tools.
• Precept and mentor new staff or MA students as needed.
