Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II in Lakewood, CO to support the healthcare team and patients, performing clinical tasks, documenting accurately, and assisting with front office duties as needed.

You will work under providers, demonstrate patient-centered care, and pursue growth through the MA Clinical Ladder. Strong clinical skills, accountability, and commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS through American Heart Association is required.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/RCMA) or equivalent credential is required.
• Must complete Medical Assistant Core Skills with specialty competencies as defined.
• Preferred: completion of MA program or EMT training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs and report to provider.
• Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, procedures, prevention services, previsit planning and follow-up.
• Contribute to the care plan with the interdisciplinary team and address barriers to participation.
• Provide patient/family education assessing health literacy and learning needs; evaluate teaching effectiveness.
• Encourage patient engagement using motivational interviewing and teach-back methods.
• Precept and mentor new staff or MA students as needed.

Education

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

BLS through American Heart Association

Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/RCMA) or other approved credential

Completion of Medical Assistant Core Skills with specialty competencies

Completion of Medical Assisting Program/Trade/Technical School

Completion of EMT Program/Trade/Technical School
