Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• BLS through American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification/registration.
• Preferred: EMT experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs and relay findings to the provider.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including vital signs and basic procedures.
• Contribute to care planning with the interdisciplinary team and support patient self-management.
• Complete Medical Assistant Core Skills and any specialty competencies per Scope of Practice.
• Maintain confidential patient charts and records, including document importation.
• Document status, interventions and outcomes accurately and timely.
