Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple sites. You will perform rooming tasks, collect vitals and histories, assist clinicians with procedures, and handle lab duties including specimen processing and point-of-care testing.

You will also administer vaccines and medications per safety protocols. The role requires strong communication, teamwork and adherence to clinical policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine and complex technical skills within Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport with patients, team members and physicians.
• Proficient computer skills including windows navigation and electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains training and competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, health maintenance, allergy review.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
