Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant to support exam preparation, take vitals, and assist physicians and staff across primary care and specialty clinics. The role includes patient registration, charting, and front-desk duties in a fast-paced health system.

The position requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program, current certification from recognized boards, and AHA BLS. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by recognized bodies.
• Must maintain current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or other board-approved certifying body.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary tests and measuring vitals.
• Assist physicians and staff; maintain exam rooms and organize supplies.
• Perform ECGs and point-of-care testing as required.
• Handle front office functions: patient registration, scheduling, referrals, and charting in EMR.
• Maintain accurate records, assist with discharge paperwork and ensure policy-compliant care.
