Job summary

Capital Health System, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, collect specimens, and assist physicians with clinical and clerical tasks across primary care and specialty sites.

The role includes room preparation, charting in the EMR, coordinating with front office, performing ECGs/POCT, and handling registration and discharge processes as part of patient care management. AHA BLS and accredited MA program are required.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by NHA/CAHEA/ABHES or other recognized agency.
• Must maintain current certification from CMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or equivalent.
• AHA BLS required.
• Strong problem solving, insurance knowledge, phone etiquette, and ability to communicate effectively; basic computer/data entry; medical record management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination; document medical information in EMR and record vitals.
• Assist physicians, maintain exam rooms and supplies, and coordinate with front office staff.
• Perform ECGs and point-of-care testing; assist with referrals, scheduling, and discharge paperwork.
