Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations across Capital Health offices. You will prepare patients for exams, perform basic tests, assist physicians, and maintain patient records and scheduling.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program with 330 clock hours, current AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT certification, and BLS. Strong communication and data-entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Medical assisting program accredited with at least 330 clock hours.
• Current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or equivalent.
• AHA BLS; non-licensed must obtain by orientation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance specifications, and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination with vital signs and history review.
• Clean exam rooms and assist physicians; collect specimens.
• Prepare rooms, manage supplies and forms for testing.
• Handle clerical duties: registration, phones, scheduling, records.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care tests per policy.
• Document information in electronic medical records and coordinate care.
• Coordinate with front desk and support patient service.
• Cross-train to receptionist duties as needed.
• NJPMP monitoring uploads per LIP direction.
