Job summary

CleanSlate Centers is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant II for a part-time role in West Springfield, MA. You will support medical providers with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.

You will perform phlebotomy, CLIA-waived testing, injections training, and medication counting, while maintaining accurate EMR documentation. A strong team focus and commitment to patient safety are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program.
• 1+ year Medical Assistant and phlebotomy experience.
• Willingness to train on injections if not proficient.
• Healthcare experience a plus; BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proficient with EMRs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals.
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Administer injections per provider direction and training.
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
• Support outreach: appointment reminders and patient follow-up.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and manage lab/PPE supplies.
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow.
• Uphold safety, confidentiality, and infection control protocols.

What You’ll Do

As a Medical Assistant II, you’ll be a critical part of the care team-supporting medical providers, assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your work helps drive quality care, patient safety, and healing for those in recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing
• Administer injections per provider direction and training
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts
• Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy
• Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient
• Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office
