Job summary

CleanSlate Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our care team, supporting clinicians, performing phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, injections, charting, and medication counts to ensure a seamless patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an MA/Phlebotomy/EMT/LPN program, 1+ year MA/phlebotomy experience, BLS certification or attainable within 90 days, and proficiency with EMR and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program
  • 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy
  • Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient
  • Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals
  • Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing
  • Administer injections per provider direction and training
  • Assist with prescription management and medication counts
  • Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up
  • Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow
  • Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols
