Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Owensboro, KY is hiring a Medical Assistant II for a full-time, day-shift role. The position supports medical providers, performs phlebotomy and screening tests, and assists with injections under provider direction.

Strong EMR and Microsoft Office skills are valued. Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of a MA/Phlebotomy/EMT/LPN program, 1+ year MA/phlebotomy experience, and BLS certification or plan to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy
• Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient
• Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA- waived testing
• Administer injections per provider direction and training
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts
• Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols
