Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant I/II in the Grafton area to provide patient care and clerical support in the clinic. The role includes taking vital signs, performing EKGs and phlebotomy, and assisting with injections and routine exams.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. General duties involve documenting patient information, performing POC tests, and ensuring timely communication of abnormal lab results to clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Dept. of Health must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assists in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Reviews laboratory results and flags abnormal results to physicians.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant credential (MA)

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification
