Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinic operations at Shrewsbury Family Medicine. The role involves clinical and clerical tasks, assisting providers, and accepting workplace training to aid patient care.

A $3,000 signing bonus is available, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 8:30 AM–5:00 PM shift, totaling 40 hours per week. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS/HeartSaver certification within 3 months, and MA credential

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/HeartSaver certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight).
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and escalate abnormal findings to clinicians.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS or HeartSaver certification (American Heart Association)

Medical Assistant credential (MA) approved by the MA Department of Health
