Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians in a Hopkinton clinic. The role involves patient transport, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and injections, plus clerical duties to maintain smooth clinic operations.

The qualified candidate will have a High School Diploma, BLS/HS certification, and a recognized Medical Assistant credential. This Non-Exempt, full-time position offers day shifts, with a signing bonus possible depending on interview outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification required or within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare, document and administer injections within scope.
• Assist with routine physical exams and clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and flag abnormal findings to physicians.
• Maintain patient care rooms and equipment, and ensure sterilization.
• Process prescriptions and manage clerical duties per protocol.
• Coordinate with insurers for pre-authorizations and referrals.
