Job summary

Capital Health System, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support primary care and specialty clinics.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, collecting specimens, performing EKGs and point-of-care tests, and documenting in electronic medical records. The role also covers front desk tasks such as patient check-in/out, scheduling, and transcription of orders, ensuring accurate, timely patient care workflows.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NHA/CAHEA/ABHES or equivalent.
• Program includes 330 clock hours and injections training; sterile technique and emergency procedures.
• Current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or other recognized body.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians and staff.
• Perform electrocardiograms and point-of-care tests.
• Handle clerical duties: registration, scheduling, charting, and records management.
• Assist in front desk tasks: check-in/out, referrals, insurance eligibility, and discharge paperwork.
