Job summary

Capital Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient prep, vital signs, specimen collection, and front-office duties in a busy clinical setting. You will assist physicians, maintain exam rooms, and help with documentation in electronic medical records.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program, state-of-the-art training, and recognized certification. Eligible for comprehensive benefits with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Current certification from a recognized medical assisting certifying body is required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance specifications and EMR data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs and document history.
• Assist physicians and staff, prepare exam rooms and collect lab specimens.
• Handle clerical tasks: registration, scheduling, charting and filing.
• Perform ECGs, point-of-care tests and ensure proper specimen handling.
• Coordinate with front office and ensure smooth discharge paperwork and referrals.
