Job summary

Atrium Health is hiring a Medical Assistant I for Rutherford Internal Medicine in North Carolina. This full‑time role offers a 40‑hour work week, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, venipuncture, POCT, vaccine administration, and assisting providers. Requirements include a high school diploma and an accredited MA program; two years of MA experience preferred in related divisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in clinical setting.
• Two years of verifiable full‑time Medical Assistant experience within last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, med history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, and packing.
• Completes CLIA waived tests and other diagnostic tests as per SOP.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles tasks like refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment function.
