Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies/procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, lab orders/preparation, results tracking; performs POCT per standing order.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Handles tasks such as refills, authorizations, messaging, ordering, scheduling, referrals.
• Maintains clean environment; ensures equipment/supplies are stocked.
• May assist with training onboarding of teammates; may serve on a committee.
