Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Charlotte, NC to support clinical operations. You will perform rooming tasks, document medical history, review allergies, and conduct screenings as part of routine visits.

Responsibilities include assisting providers, venipuncture, POCT/CLIA-waived tests, and administering medications or vaccines under supervision. You will also manage scheduling, referrals, and patient communications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Must demonstrate knowledge to provide care appropriate to age of patients served.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and escalates as needed.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.
