Qualifications

• Must have strong patient care abilities and teamwork.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks and EMR systems.
• Education varies by division; formal Medical Assistant training or equivalent.
• BLS/medical certifications may be required per department.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists providers with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and care coordination.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment operation.
• Supports training of teammates and may serve on committees.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across life span and accurate data interpretation.
