Job summary

Capital Health's Institute for Neurosciences in Lawrenceville, NJ seeks a Medical Assistant I for a full-time day shift. You will prepare exam rooms, assist providers, document medical histories, and support both clinical and administrative tasks to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least two years of direct patient-care experience, BLS certification, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience as a medical assistant, EMT or other direct patient care related role.
• AHA BLS.
• Knowledge of vital signs, medical terminology, basic computer data entry skills; and medical record management.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Usual Work Day: 8 Hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms for patient encounters and assists LIP as requested.
• Directs patients to examination rooms; assists in preparing patients for examination; assists patients in undressing, dressing and getting on and off of the examination table.
• Notifies provider of patient's arrival and readiness for their examination.
• Reviews charts prior to patients' scheduled appointment to assure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed.
• Obtains and records patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Assists with medication reconciliation process and documenting patient medications.
• Performs clerical duties: registration, billing, scheduling, medical records management.
• Maintains infection control, cleans and stocks rooms; cross-trained for Patient Reception Rep duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
