Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Med Assistant I for the Cardiology Specialists in Lawrenceville, NJ. This full-time day shift supports patient prep, vitals, testing, and clerical duties, contributing to streamlined clinic operations and patient care.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program, current certification, and BLS. You will work closely with physicians and front-office staff in a fast-paced outpatient setting, delivering compassionate, accurate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program with 330 clock hours.
• Current certification from a recognized medical assisting cert body or equivalent (CMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or equivalent).
• BLS certification required; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.
• Strong problem-solving, insurance knowledge, and communication skills.
• Willing to take delegation from RNs/LPNs and capable of multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and take vitals (BP, weight, temperature).
• Clean exam rooms and obtain lab specimens; assist physicians and staff as needed.
• Record medical history and medication info in EMR; agendas and forms handling.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing per policy and safety rules.
• Coordinate with front office; assist with check-in/out, referrals, and discharge paperwork.
• Cross-train to support Patient Reception duties as needed.
