Job summary

Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide high quality care at our Bowie, MD practice. The MA administers medications and vaccines, obtains vital signs, maintains supplies, and helps ensure safe patient flow.

Responsibilities also include tracking high-risk referrals and lab tests, coordinating transitions of care, maintaining a clean, organized clinical area, and supporting quality measures like HEDIS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification required with completion within 3 months of hire.
• CPR certification required; recertification every two years.
• Two years MA experience preferred in primary care.

• Administer medications and immunizations per protocol.
• Obtain vital signs and document accurately.
• Maintain inventory and ensure patient flow is safe and efficient.

JHCP is looking for a Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide high quality care to patients at our Bowie, MD practice. The Medical Assistant administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains inventory of appropriate supplies, ensures safe and efficient patient flow, tracks high-risk referrals and lab tests, facilitates safe transitions of care, organizes practice environment to assure patient safety and quality outcomes, and contributes to HEDIS and designated quality measures.

Location: 17001 Science Drive Suite 102, Bowie, MD

Shift: Non- Exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week

What You'll Need to be Successful:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant required successful completion of the AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA (NAHP), NCMA(NCCT), RCMAS(NCMA), or CCMA(NHA). Medical Assistant Certification, exam within 3 months of hire. Five or more years of specific applicable MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training program provided eligibility for RMA(American Medical Technologists) exam. A valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.
• Two years experience preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
