Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide foundational clinical and clerical support under supervision. The role includes taking vitals, patient history, screenings and health maintenance, with opportunities to work in virtual health settings.

Responsibilities also include scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart prep, prior authorizations and point-of-care testing. Candidates should have MA diploma or CT clinical credentials, and AHA BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification, or relevant experience.
• Active BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• All credentials must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support under provider supervision, including vitals, health history and screenings.
• Assist with health maintenance, reconciliation and directives, and virtual health tasks.
• Schedule, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations; conduct point-of-care testing with QC and documentation.
