Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support under the direction of a provider. The role includes performing vitals, patient history, screenings, and health maintenance, as well as scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart prep, and prior authorizations.

The position requires a diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic/Medic certification, with EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program required, or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic/Medic certification.
• Certification kept current throughout employment.
• Experience in direct patient care and medical office settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care under provider supervision.
• Perform vitals, health history, screenings, and health maintenance tasks.
• Handle scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart prep, and prior authorizations.
• Travel between Hartford HealthCare offices as required.
