Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians in Columbus, OH is hiring Medical Assistants to support direct patient care in outpatient settings across multiple locations.

You will room patients, take vital signs, assist clinicians, collect samples, and prepare treatment rooms according to protocol. A MA diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience are preferred; certification boosts pay. Tuition reimbursement and certification incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus an MA program diploma or 1 year medical assisting experience
• Military Medic or EMT-P training acceptable
• Certification in Medical Assisting preferred

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure vital signs and record results.
• Complete patient interview and history taking.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; explain procedures.
• Assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as ordered.
• Set up equipment and treatment rooms for procedures.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
