Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. seeks Medical Assistants to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. You will room patients, take vital signs, prepare for examinations and assist with procedures under physician direction.

A High School Diploma or equivalent plus MA program diploma or related experience is required; certification is preferred. The role offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a large university health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training or Military Medic training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temp, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare treatment rooms.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.
