Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. The role includes rooming patients, recording vitals, interviewing, preparing for examinations, and assisting clinicians under established protocols.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent and either completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least one year of medical assisting experience; certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and either a MA program diploma or 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training or EMT-P training also acceptable.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, temp, bp, pulse, resp).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for exams and explain procedures; assist as ordered.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare treatment rooms.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
