Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings across our network in Columbus, OH. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing for examinations and tests, and assisting physicians with procedures.

We value MA certification and offer incentive compensation for certificants plus tuition reimbursement to help cover certification costs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus one of: MA program diploma, 1 year medical assisting exp, Military Medic, EMT-P, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Preference: Medical Assistant Certification
• Tuition reimbursement available to help cover certification costs.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments.
• Assist in examinations and treatments as directed by physician.
• Set up equipment and treatment rooms.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine labs.

Education

Medical Assistant Program diploma

Military Medic training

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
