Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. You will room patients, take vital signs, interview patients, and prepare them for exams while assisting physicians with procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent along with a MA program diploma, or at least 1 year of medical assisting experience, or Military Medic/EMT-P training, or a related education combo.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus one of the following: MA program diploma, 1 year medical assisting experience, Military Medic, EMT-P, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
