Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Lansing, MI, is seeking Medical Assistants who will provide patient care and support clinic operations. Starting wages are $17.69/hour for non-certified MAs and $18.41/hour for certified MAs, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.

Work hours are 8a–5p in a full-time schedule. Responsibilities include vital signs, assisting with exams, injections, venipuncture, EKGs, immunizations and charting in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months MA or patient care tech experience.
• Completion of MA program or related certification (MA/EMT/CNA/LPN/medic or PCT).
• BLS within 6 months of hire for Rural Health Designation clinics.
• Float positions may require travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision, including vital signs and basic procedures.
• Assist provider during examinations, procedures and testing.
• Prepare rooms, gather supplies and document interventions and patient responses.
• Administer injections, venipuncture, EKGs, immunizations and blood draws as directed.
• Manage prescriptions approvals and complete lab slips and referrals.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant program or related certification (MA, EMT, CNA, LPN, armed services medic, or patient care technician)
