Job summary

McLaren Health Care, based in Grand Blanc, MI, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clerical duties. The role covers vital signs, injections, venipuncture, EKGs, and room preparation, with emphasis on service excellence and teamwork across clinic settings.

The position offers full-time hours, 8a-5p, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible hires and starting wages of $17.24/hour for non-certified and $18.28/hour for certified Medical Assistants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or a Patient Care Tech.
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• BLS certification within 6 months for Rural Health Designation.
• For float positions, travel to or between clinics is required.
• CMA or RMA certification.
• Electronic medical record experience.
• One-year experience in a medical office with multiple providers.
• Previous experience in the same specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist in medical procedures and tests to aid examination and treatment of patients.
• Administer injections and venipuncture; take vital signs and prepare rooms.
• Assist with clerical duties to maintain efficient operations.
• Prepare patient and equipment for visits; document interventions in charts or EMR.
• Support with routine procedures for gynecological exams and office visits.
