Job summary

Marathon Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Mississippi to support a primary care team. The MA works with a primary care physician to deliver high-quality patient care and guest experience, serving as both receptionist and clinical support.

The role requires MA training, CPR/BLS, and preferably phlebotomy experience. The candidate will manage vitals, injections, rooming, scheduling, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MA experience, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification/registration is preferred; required where applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification is required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Take vitals, draw blood, administer injections, and assist procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as ordered.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and check-in/out.
• Document in medical records and communicate results to patients.
• Coordinate care and outreach to engage eligible patient groups.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
