The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in lab prep, and adherence to EMR workflows in a fast-paced outpatient setting at LVPG Mead St with a 8:30 AM–4:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant.
• Able to adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting.
• Take initiative and function independently or collaboratively.
• Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms and clinical area.
• Performs medical history collection and medication refill, per protocol.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens/lab requisitions and schedules authorizations for referrals/procedures.
• Identifies actual or potential patient risks and communicates to the licensed nurse or provider.
• Adheres to clerical, clinical, and EMR workflows.
• Performs clerical duties and front office support including greeting patients and customer service.
• Collects co-payments, schedules appointments, updates demographics, and obtains referrals/pre-certifications.
• Uses patient-centered care concepts in delivering care and related activities.
