Assist providers, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader, in delivering healthcare and patient care management within scope of practice
Gather patient information and assess patient requests
Obtain and monitor patient vital signs
Room patients, document visit reasons and symptoms, and enter required information in the electronic medical record
Provide injections, immunizations, patient care services, and assistance during medical procedures
Use electronic medical records and task lists to complete patient visits and requests
Recognize urgent medical needs and triage care appropriately
Communicate lab results, manage prescriptions, complete referrals, and answer patient questions
Maintain patient records and protect confidentiality
Disinfect exam rooms and patient areas; assist with clinic upkeep, cleaning, supply ordering, and inventory
Answer telephones, schedule appointments, take messages, greet and check in patients
Address and resolve patient requests and concerns
Process insurance verifications and authorizations and explain insurance plans
Return calls and complete assigned administrative processes

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA required
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
• At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Re-processing/procedural experience highly preferred
• Allscripts experience preferred
• Ability to work an 8-hour day shift
• Ability to work 40 scheduled hours weekly
• Ability to meet required measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunization conditions of employment
