- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked
- Review previous medical information and gather updated health information for providers
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures
- Work with contracted labs for additional tests
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under provider direction and written orders
- Partner with care team members to develop individual patient care plans and address gaps in care
- Perform front desk duties, including scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, specialist visits, referrals, check-in, and check-out
- Record accurate and pertinent data in medical records according to documentation guidelines
- Process test results and communicate timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as directed
- Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible groups
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and treatment equipment
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care. May vary based on clinic needs
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program
- National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
