Job summary

CommuniCare Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations. The role involves coordinating referrals, assisting with injections, taking patient histories and vital signs, and ensuring accurate documentation for audits.

The candidate will also manage inventory, patient registration, insurance verification, and end-of-day cash reconciliation. Excellent customer service is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day front and back office operations.
• Coordinate referrals and patient communication.
• Administer injections and assist with non-invasive patient care procedures.
• Obtain patient history and vital signs; assist with audits as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment calibration and cleanliness.
• Register patients, update demographics, verify insurance, and post encounter data.
• Complete end-of-day reconciliation and secure cash deposits.
• Pre-register patients and screen for program eligibility for the next day clinic.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist other departments as needed.
