Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience as Medical Assistant and/or MA Diploma or Certification.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred.
• Experience in a primary health care setting preferred.
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.
• Ability to travel to other clinic sites as needed.
• Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day operations of the front and back office; coordinates referrals and patient communication.
• Administers injections and assists with EKGs, vision/hearing screenings, waiver testing; assists with medical examinations.
• Obtains patient history and vital signs; documents quality metrics; prepares for audits; performs MA duties across areas.
• Maintains inventory of supplies; ensures equipment is calibrated, charged, cleaned; stocks exam rooms.
• Registers patients; updates demographics; verifies insurance; posts encounters to funding plans.
• Performs end-of-day reconciliation and deposits cash; ensures cash security.
• Prepares for next day clinic by pre-registering patients and screening for program eligibility.
• Provides exceptional customer service; assists other departments as appropriate.
